I definitely wasn't on the rich and posh side of the spectrum, probably more to the chav side truth be told. I let that get in the way and always felt that I was being tolerated and should be grateful for them letting me attend. Not quite sure what they had against. When I was there we ran the gamut between very rich and posh to right chavs who happened to be very bright. I wasn't aware of that kind of snobbery from the nuns though.
Miss Carpenter was still there though and was awful. (Thinking about it, it wasn't the nuns it was the teachers.) My mother says she remembers her asking who was from Wallsend and then reminding them that they were from "the gutter". Unbelievable seeing as she was sitting next to someone from Byker LOL. It did leave a lasting impression on me in many ways, but mostly it just confirmed my feelings of being poor and working class. We went there several years apart so hopefully your experience was better than mine.
Clippy Mathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15922234265229327474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3193817821028926017.post-37685166927427549122014-03-23T15:12:16.831-04:002014-03-23T15:12:16.831-04:00You only had to do two years there?
